Reset Youth Group
Reach, Teach and Send
REACHING - As the book of Acts says "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." We at Reset Youth Group want to reach out to young people in our homes, communities and schools by the power of the Holy Spirit with God's message of love and salvation. We do this gathering together in weekly services at our church and monthly events in the community. With these services and events, we pray that people will be reached by His Holy Spirit and build a relationship with Jesus!
TEACHING - Reset Youth Group wants to train up the students in God's word and in practical lifestyle applications of His Truth. (2 Tim 3:16) "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." We do this in a fun and understandable way so that all students may be built up in God's truth and be well equipped to walk a strong walk with the Lord. "But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." (1 Peter 3:15)
SENDING - When we equip our students with the Truth about a relationship with God we want to send them out to be able to tell others about the love of Jesus. This can take shape in many ways in Reset. One is Mission trips. We challenge the youth to sacrifice their time, talent and treasure to go on some short term mission trips and projects that we create at home or abroad each year. In this way students are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and sacrifice, so that others can know and feel the love of Christ through their giving. This not only blesses the groups they minister to, but also the students themselves. From it students learn servant hood, leadership, public speaking, work skills and many other life lessons. Lastly we want to be able to send our students out into the future with a purpose, a plan and a vision that will keep them in God's plan as they grow in Him. "For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the Lord. "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
To help build the truth of a real relationship with Jesus our Lord and Savior. To cause the character of Christ to be formed and nurtured personally in each student. Lastly to have a family of believers that will know that they are loved and accepted regardless of what stage of life they are in, so they can reach out to others in their homes, communities and beyond.
Youth group meets every Sunday morning at 10:00 am in the sanctuary for worship and then adjourns to the youth room for fellowship.
