The God Size

"Would you like to Super size that ?" It seems that all of the fast food restaurants are in the business of making us believe that if we "Super size" our meal that we are receiving a better deal, because we are getting more for less. Sometimes that mentality slips into our spiritual thinking and we get the idea of more with less. Less prayer, just more concentrated. Less meditation in Gods word, just more targeted study and investigation. Less attendance at church, just more Christian activity. The reality of this is that just like the illusion of more for less is with the restaurants, the same is true with God. His word is to be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, but it will be very dim without the fuel of our time in it. Prayer is to be the avenue of our communication with God, but the less time we spend speaking to Him and listening to His voice the more we don't understand the answers. Attendance in church is for the edification of the Body and the glorification of the one who is to be first in our lives. The one we are to love above all. But the more we are out of attendance the more disconnected we become to the Body and to the Spirit that fills that Body.

  Psalm 84:1-2, 11
How lovely is your Tabernacle, O Lord of host! My souls longs, yes even faints for the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
For the Lord God is a sun and a shield: the Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Morning "MO"

Sometimes I am amazed at how much I don't know and what I don't know. Sounds kind of strange but we all find ourselves in this same place. Not knowing is not good enough any more in this world of electronics. We are offered every conceivable way to receive knowledge about anything we can think of. But it is the knowledge of Gods own Word that is the most beneficial and powerful. We read in 2Peter 1:2-4 about just one of the aspects of having this knowledge operating in our lives,

"Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

Grace, peace, divine power, all things pertain to life and godliness, great promises, divine nature, and deliverance to name just a few of the benefits of having the knowledge of Gods Word. We may not know what this day, or this week, or even this month may bring our way, but we do know ONE who knows what we don’t know. His name is Jesus. Lets look to Him who is the "Author and Finisher of our faith"

Morning “MO”

Galatians 5:25 (NASB-U)

If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

Living in the Spirit will bring the Power needed to walk in the ways of the Lord. There is an empowering, a spiritual awareness, a spiritual sensitivity that comes when we are immersed, or baptized in the Spirit of the Lord. It will move the Power, {authority}, of God to the front of our lives like nothing else. The Spirit of God is His presence in us and working through us. Walking by His Spirit means directional, not conditional influence in our lives. He “the Holy Spirit” will always point us toward the power of grace and the compulsion of love. These are truly the motivation, and the illustration of living by the Spirit. The power the world is for domination, but the power of the Spirit will always be for revelation, reconciliation and restoration.

Morning "MO"

"But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever
Psalms 52:8

I suppose we all have our own perspective of what it means to flourish. To be strong, healthy and grow well are all flourishing's when the conditions are right. How long has it been since you have flourished?
For some it has been to long. The events of life, the challenges and the pressures, are overwhelming you and causing you to feel tired and unable to proceed. Well you're not alone.
The feeling that the walls are closing in on you is the same feeling that the writer of the 52nd psalm had. Despite all of the wickedness that surrounded him, the Psalmist held to these words, "But I am like a olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever."
Don't let the things around you cause you to forget who makes you flourish-"God". Spending time in His presence, such as in His house consciously waiting on Him, puts you in a spiritual place to flourish. In the mist of the surrounding press, it will be the roots that have sunk deep into the soil of His word that will hold. Find yourself in that place of flourishing this week.

Morning “MO”

 Isa 48:3

“I have declared the former things from the beginning; They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.”

Everyday we get another chance to experience the declared will and work of God. He has declared He will do what He said He will do. I sometime question my own faith in that statement. Because I have an agenda, a schedule, a plan, even a desired end I get inpatient. God said that His Word will be completed “Suddenly.” That means on time, in time to accomplish His desire. Also He will “Cause” His Word to be completed. That means Suddenly His purpose will be expressed and enacted. They will come to pass. Be assured that God is using the situation you are in right now to prepare you and Suddenly revelation will come, understanding will be made clear, wisdom will seem normal. We are the one’s He declared these thing too and for. Today we will hear again that declaration, and we will experience the Suddenly come to pass. Praising Him now for what He is doing even though we may not be understanding them but trusting in Him.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you O God.”

Morning “MO”

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties"              Psa. 139:23

Asking God to know us can become a trying experience. Just as any evaluation exposes good and bad, accomplishment and need, triumph and defeats, an evaluation by the Spirit of God can lead to some anxiety. When we remember that God does all things for our good, it can relieve us of the pressure of performance for Him and for others. God is looking for willing hearts. Hearts that are ready to be revealed, ready to be searched, ready to have an encounter with this power of God that will purge, purify, and cleanse. As the light from a lighthouse sweeps across the waters, it has really only one task-----to dispel the darkness and reveal hidden dangers in the murky water below. The result is safety and protection for the ship along the shoreline.

God's light can serve a similar function in our hearts and lives. When we open our hearts to Him, the light of His love reveals the dangers and obstacles that lay hidden below the surface. Asking God to search our heart and help us see those things that could lead us to unwise choices and destructive behaviors and will allow His will to be preformed in our lives and not just our own personal desires. His will is for our best and the light of His Word will bring us to a place of encountering new revelation, regeneration, and His exaltation. His light is always gentle and leads to safety and truth.

Morning “MO”

James 1:22-24
  {MSG}
“Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you ear. Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, and what they look like.”

I suppose in some ways we are all guilty of hearing and not acting upon what we hear. For the temporal things in our lives it could mean a missed appointment, or opportunity. A relationship strained, or even broken. An accident, an investment, a health issue! But when it applies to the Word of God being active in our lives this becomes a completely different matter. Lives hang in the balance of eternity. When an air plane is about to take off, there is a recording of the number of souls onboard. When a submarine is lost at sea the crew are numbered in souls on board. This number of souls are impacted by those who are to be not just listeners of the information for the flight or the mission but those who act upon that information. We are not just listeners of the Word of life but we are also to take action based upon that Word which will impact every souls under our influence. We too are on a mission and by not forgetting who we are, the application of what we hear will become transformation for those with whom we inter-act. Being a doer will exhibit the depth of what we retain when we listen with spiritual ears.

Blessings

Morning “MO

Acts 4:13 “They recognized that they had been with Jesus”

When I spend time with Jesus, I am soaking in His presence. That soaking becomes the fragrance of light and life that so many others long for.
Soaking in Hi
s presence requires a dwelling in His presence. It’s not a casual moment or even an occasional encounter.
When I soak in Him He overflows me. As I take Him in, He pours Himself out. It’s through this input and output that people recognize that I have
been with Him. When I spend that time His Spirit shows through us. This
becomes my true identity. I see differently, I hear differently. I love deeper,
and I sacrifice with joy. When
I spend time with Him I give Him the worship He deserves for His majesty and His holiness. It causes me to love
Him for His mercy and His grace. As I stay near Him it developed my character and it begins to reflect His character. No greater joy can we have
than to be recognized as having been with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Let your Light Shine.
